Day 10 / Dia 10 - Praia do Forte (Salvador)

Dia 10

Day 10

Today we spent the whole morning and afternoon at Praia do Forte.
In the morning we got some very interesting impressions of the local turtle protection organization and learned a lot about the different kind of turtles that live at the Brazilian coasts.
Afterwards we had the whole afternoon time to visit the stores and shops, relax at the beach or enjoy acai.
When we got back to the hotel, everybody was in a hurry! There was not much time left to prepare ourselves for the big talent show at night! For dinner we were at a very good restaurant with a buffet with a variety of foods and a pizza rodízio that left nobody unsatisfied. Back at the hotel it was time for the big talent show of this years Northeast trip December! Everybody had a lot of fun and there were a lot of great acts, such as singing, dancing, wrestling, a water chugging challenge and competition of who could stuff the most marshmallows in their mouth. The whole group had a lot of laughs and it was a great time full of joy. In conclusion this was another great day at the Northeast trip December!

Today we took a ship to the Gunga beach. The view is so beautiful! We sang songs, danced and took many pictures on the boat. Once we arrived to the beach, everyone played in the sea and some of us went to the banana boat! It was awesome! After that we went on buggys to a mountain. The view was really spectacular and our driver is a funny guy because he drove fast but safely on the sand, he also helped us took many pictures. We are really lucky. After we ate a delicious lunch, we got on the boat back to the hotel. I took a rest and then we went together to do the supermarket to buy some cookies because tomorrow we will stay on the bus almost ten hours.

And we had a party. The party had delicious food and nice DJ. Everyone danced very well. I really enjoyed the party. We also had a swimming pool in the party. Everyone had a good time tonight. Today is a wonderful day!

Dia 8 - Nordeste 2015 - Praia do Gunga

Hoje fomos pegar o barco para a praia. A vista é tão bonita. Cantamos músicas e tiramos muitas fotos no barco.

Day 7 / Dia 7- Maceió

A comida estava gostosa.

Day 7 - Notheast 2015 - Maceió

After a wonderful breakfast we went to the beach in Maceió which has some natural pools in the middle of the sea. We had a lot of fun playing, swimming and taking tons of pictures and making videos. After a couple of hours we went back to the back to the beach, mostly of us went to a handcraft market while the rest of the group stayed at the beach. At 12:30 we got together for lunch in a restaurant called Sueca Comedoria, the food was delicious. After that we went back to the hotel.

In the afternoon went to a beach close to the hotel, Praia do Francês, for our surf lessons, it was amazing and funny at the same time, because some of us did not make it and went back to the beach to eat some fruits and drink water. We stayed there until 5:30pm and at 6:00pm we were back at the hotel; Ronald told us that we would go out at 8:30pm for dinner, but since we had a couple of hours, some of us spent some of that time at the pool and the rest were talking for a while, after that we went out for dinner. The food was really good and there were live forró music (a typical music from Brazil) and we danced a lot, it was a blast!

Today was Natalia´s birthday as well and we celebrated it at the restaurant and she got to dance with her bests friends and the band played the happy birthday song in forró rhythm,

Day 6 / Dia 6 - Lençóis / Maceió

Day 6- Northeast 2015- Lençóis / Maceió

After a fabulous breakfast, we prepared everything and headed towards the city of Maceió. It was a day trip where we spent most of the time on the bus, take the opportunity to relax, to play, listen to music and watch movies.

It's always nice to travel as it is possible to view the various landscapes of the country and realize the greatness of Brazil . There are many different ecosystems that make up a country. It was a bit tiring but at last we are on the beach.

Day 5 / Dia 5 - Chapada Diamantina

Day 5 – Northeast 2015 – Morro do Pai Inácio

We were fortunate enough to visit the beautiful Chapada Diamantina, words cannot begin to describe it’s beauty! Brazil is one perfect country and we are lucky enough to be living here. We had a marvelous day, starting with a very tiring walk up the steep hill called Morro do Pai Inacio, but it was worth it because upon our arrival at the top, we got the view of a lifetime . We had a photo shoot with flags from different countries from a place that felt like the top of the world.

Through this we established a special connection as exchange students, as even though we have only known each other for six days, it felt like we have been together for a lifetime. We got to become one with nature as we were far from civilization and the man made world planning. It was only our heart felt connections with mother nature.

Unfortunately we could not go to the natural water slide because of the rain but however being the optimistic people we are, we made the best of the situation and bounded in a local bank where we had taken shelter.

We ended our day by embracing the Brazilian culture through the Capoeira show with some of the exchange students learning a couple of the dance techniques, for after all there is no better teacher than experience.

Dia 5 – Nordeste 2015 – Morro do Pai Inácio
